  26. IPSentry v 3.0.x - 10.22.1997

  29. 3.0  - Fully enabled all functionality.  Unregistered versions are
  30.        valid for 30 days.  After 30 days, all server entries will
  31.        be skipped and no sentries will be performed.
  32.  
  33. 3.0  - Added link to default browser to order license(s) direct
  34.        from the registration information screen.
  35.  
  36. 3.0  - Added ability to utilize binary data in the send/receive fields.
  37.        Format is &Hnn&Hnn&Hnn....   using the hex value of the character.
  38.        This came in handy for checking https and other misc. services that
  39.        require a binary "hello" in order to respond.
  40.  
  41. 3.0  - Added display options from the "Options" menu to set the output
  42.        for b/w or color. This was required for use on B/W VGA monitors
  43.        as some colors were not displayed properly.

  45. 3.0  - Added display option for "Short Display" wich reduces the active
  46.        display to one line per machine ending with OK or DOWN.  Status
  47.        of activity such as Send / Recv and time remaining is not displayed.
  48.        Note however, all alert information is still displayed as before.

  50. 3.0  - Upgraded TCP/IP Controls to ActiveX based controls from Dev-Soft.

  52. 3.0  - Added ICMP (ping) option when running Windows NT.  This option
  53.        is unavailable under Win95 due to the lack of raw socket access.

  56. 3.0  - Added functionality to check for response using "https" port 443
  57.        for secure connection.  Send & Recv data fields should not be used
  58.        and IPSentry will over-ride any data placed in these fields with

  62.        servers and machines sitting behind a failed router - or ignore
  63.        services based on failure of ICMP or ECHO.

  166. 2.2 - Corrected minor timing issues while dialing using
  167.       outside line from Dial Properties.

  169. 2.2 - Failure counter incrementing with each machine failure
  170.       rather than per machine.  This would cause the possibility
  171.       of alert not being sent if the "every" and "Max Alert" options
  172.       were set to other than 1 and -1 respectively.  Because this
  173.       is a problem with the underlying alert scheduling, other
  174.       alert problems may have been noticed.  Corrected!
  175.  
  176. 2.2 - Maximum alerts was off by 1.  For example: If max alerts was set
  177.       to 2, 3 alerts would actually be issued.  Corrected!

  179. 2.2 - Changing the port via dropdown and select did not enable the
  180.       "save" button under machine settings. Corrected!

  182. 2.2 - Selecting or unselecting "Loop Beeps" under Audible Alert would not
  183.       enable the "Save" button. Corrected!

  185. 2.2 - Error #5 after several hours of execution. This error would appear
  186.       on NT 4.0 (sp2 or sp3) only.  There appears to be a problem with
  187.       high volume registry updates from VB.  I have modified IPSentry
  188.       to utilize external files (.idn) files located in the same path
  189.       as IPSentry.  These files will contain the statistical and counter
  190.       information originally stored in the registry. Corrected!
  191.  
  192.       These files can be identified as M_nnnnnn.idn and should not be
  193.       deleted.  If these files are removed, the statististic for a
  194.       given machine will be reset to zero.
  195.  
  196. 2.2 - Added <CTRL-C> option to terminate a sentry cycle.  Upon
  197.       completion of the server being monitored, the remainder
  198.       of the machines in the list will be skipped and IPSentry
  199.       will return to the "Waiting (n) minutes..." message.
  200.  
  201.       This is similar to "pause" however, after the wait time,
  202.       IPSentry will start the cycle again.
  203.  
  204. 2.2 - After editing a machine/service properties, the list would return
  205.       with no items selected.  This has been changed to keep the edited
  206.       machine (last selected) as the current selection.

  209. IPSentry v 2.1.x - 05.16.1997
  210. =============================
  211. 2.1 - Selecting Maximize button on main IPSentry monitor screen caused
  212.       strange display and corrupted text. Corrected!
  213.  
  214. 2.1 - Selecting *Default in the "Enabled?" section of E-Mail, Audible,
  215.       and Launch Command alert settings was not working properly.  When
  216.       a service failed and IPSentry encountered this setting, a default
  217.       setting of "Enabled? YES" was assumed.  Corrected!
  218.  
  219. 2.1 - In "Test Alert" for multiple pagers.
  220.       Holding <CTRL> key while clicking a pager number in order to
  221.       test multiple pagers results in Run-Time Error 91. Using SHIFT
  222.       while clicking an item worked correctly. Corrected!
  223.  
  224. 2.1 - Fixed problem with failure and alert counters not incrementing
  225.       properly.  First After, Alert Every, Max Alerts were being
  226.       initialized regardless of failure status. Corrected!
  227.  
  228. 2.1 - When selecting "test" alert on pagers, prompt to save changes
  229.       even when no changes were made.  Corrected!
  230.
